Do I need a VPS to run an Expert Advisor?

I run an EA on my laptop and sometimes it stops when I close the lid. Is a VPS necessary?

An EA only runs while the platform is open and connected, so if your computer sleeps or the internet drops, it stops. A VPS (a remote computer that runs all the time) solves this and can also be placed close to your broker's server for lower latency.

It is not strictly required for a slow EA that you can watch, but it is strongly advised for any EA that must run 24 hours a day, five days a week. Make sure the VPS has enough memory for your platform and that you can log in to restart it if needed.
