How can I stop revenge trading after a loss?

Mei Lin Asked 9 days ago 1.5K views

When I lose, I immediately open another trade to win the money back, and it usually makes things worse.

Revenge trading means taking a trade to win the money back, not because there is a setup. Some steps that help:

  • Stop trading for a set time after a loss, for example 30 minutes, and leave the screen.
  • Set a daily loss limit and respect it.
  • Reduce your size after a losing streak, do not increase it.
  • Write the emotion in your journal before the next trade ("angry", "bored", "rushed").

If the feeling is strong, skip the trade. Missing one trade costs nothing.
